LEGAL NOTICE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public meeting will be held by the Zoning Board of Appeals of the Town of Vestal, Broome County, New York in the Board Room located at 605 Vestal Parkway West, Vestal, New York, 13850 on Thursday, January 25, 2018 to consider the following requests for an interpretation and/or variance and/or special permit as follows:

1) At 6:00 p.m. a building permit to construct a 14’x20’ shed has been denied to Eric Ten Eyck, Tax Map# 189.11-4-1, located at 417 Anderson Road, Vestal, New York for nonconformity with Chapter 24, Article IV, Division 2, Section (c)(2)(a) of the Code of the Town of Vestal, Broome County, New York, pertaining to an accessory building having less than the required ten foot (10’) setback from the principal building in an “R-R”, Rural Residence District. The applicant has applied to the Zoning Board of Appeals for relief, and is requesting to place the accessory building within 2.5 ft. of the principal structure.

1) At 6:20 p.m. a home occupation permit to operate a daycare facility has been denied to Julie Skojec, Tax Map# 173.40-2-20, 716 Delano Avenue, Vestal, New York for nonconformity with Chapter 24, Article IV, Division 1, Section 24-151, Permitted Uses-Residential Districts of the Code of the Town of Vestal, Broome County, New York pertaining to a property use that is not permitted in an “RA-1”, One Family Residential District. The applicant has applied to the Zoning Board of Appeals for relief, and is requesting a use variance to permit the operation of a home occupancy (day care) in an “RA-1”, Single Family Residential zoning district.

In addition to the above scheduled hearings, all previously heard applications to the Zoning Board of Appeals may be discussed by the Zoning Board of Appeals and acted upon, as well as discussion of other Zoning Board of Appeals business.
